Australia: ABS Labour Force Figures, released today, unemployment rate remained steady at3.5%.↔ The participation rate remained steady at 66.7%.↔ Monthly hours worked decreased at 1,888 million hours.↓

China: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released January 17, the unemployment rate decreased to 5.5%.↓

USA: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released January 17, the unemployment rate decreased 0.2 points to 5.5%.↓

France: Insee France, released November 15, the unemployment rate decreased 0.1 points in the third quarter to 7.3%. ↓

Spain: Instituto  Nacional de Estadistica, released October 27, unemployment rate increased to 0.19 points in the third quarter to 12.67%. ↑

Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence jumped by 4.9pts to 87.4 this week to reach its highest for over three months since late September 2022 (87.8).

Job Advertisements Series, released October 4, Job Ads declined by 0.5 per cent m/m in September, following a small downward revision of the August result. But this is only 0.8 per cent below the recent peak in June. This suggests tightness in the labour market is not yet letting up, which is consistent with other indicators.

Job Vacancy Rates: ABS Labour Force Figures, released January11, total job vacancies for the November 2022 quarter were 444,200, a decrease of 4.9% from August 2022.↓
