Australia: ABS Labour Force Figures, released today, unemployment rate increased 0.1 point to 4.6%. The participation rate decreased to 64.5%. Monthly hours worked increased by 15 million hours to 1,729 million hours. ↑

Job Advertisements Series, released October 5, Job Ads declined 2.8% m/m in September, the third consecutive monthly decline but was still 21.9% higher than pre pandemic level. This is consistent with our expectation that the measured unemployment rate will only lift a little above 5% later this year.
