Australia: ABS Labour Force Figures, released today, unemployment increased 0.2 points to 4.5%. ↑ The participation rate decreased to 66.7%. ↓ Monthly hours worked increased to 2,036 million hours. ↑
China: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released May 18, the unemployment rate decreased 0.2 points in April to 5.2%. ↓
USA: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released May 8 , the unemployment rate remained steady in April at 4.3%. ↔
UK: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released May 19, the unemployment rate increased 0.1 points in the March quarter to 5%. ↑
New Zealand: Statistics New Zealand, released May 5, the unemployment rate decreased 0.1 points in the March quarter to 5.3%. ↓
Germany: Statistics Germany, released April 30, the unemployment rate remained steady in April at 6.4%. ↔
France: Insee France, released May 13, the unemployment increased 0.2 points in the March quarter to 8.1%. ↑France unemployment data
Spain: Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, released April 28, the unemployment rate increased 0.9 points in the March quarter to 10.83%. ↑
Monthly Consumer Price Index Indicator: released April 29, trimmed mean inflation was 3.3%, unchanged from 3.3% in the 12 months to February 2026. ↔
Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence: released May 19, ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence was up 2.3 pts to 66.4 however, still the eighth lowest Consumer Confidence reading of all time. Consumer Confidence is a large 22.4pts lower than a year ago, May 12-18, 2025 (88.8), and now 5.2pts below the 2026 weekly average of 71.6.↑

ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads: released May 4, ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads fell 0.8 per cent month on month in April following a downwardly revised 3.2 per cent month on month fall in March. In trend terms, the series fell 0.4 per cent month on month and was down 1.0 per cent in annual terms. ↓
Job Vacancy Rates: ABS Labour Force Figures, released April 4, total job vacancies for the February quarter were 337,900 an increase of 2.7% from November 2025. ↑
